MusiK1 has formed its digital distribution arm through IODA's Digital Distribution Dashboard (D3) technology, allowing MusiK1 to digitally distribute titles to over 100 online & mobile retail stores world wide. Content owners who have their own label will become a sub-label under MusiK1, while artists who do not have a label in place will be distributed under the
MusiK1 label arm. Signed artists and sub-labels will have full access to their own Rightsholder Dashboard account, being able to:
- - opt-out of particular licensee partner (retail store) agreements
- - opt-out of particular promotions
- - input and approve content metadata
- - designate territorial limitations
- - identify releases carrying parental advisory warnings
- - designate start points for sample clips
- - designate tracks for promotional use
- - indicate controlled compositions
Artists and sub-labels will need to have a record campaign budget in place in order to fulfill marketing and promotion obligations. In most cases, MusiK1 will negotiate a certain level of
Label Support in exchange for a higher percentage in gross revenues collected by IODA. Artists and sub-labels who have an allocated budget will gain discounted rates on selective MusiK1 services.
At times,
Kingdom One Publishing will come in to negotiate
Co-Publishing rights with writers and composers to help with the exploitation of works with terrestrial radio promotions, as well as licensing and sub-publishing opportunities. If needed, MusiK1 will aid with
Publishing Company Formation if an artist or label does not have one in place, in order for the owners of the compositions to gain their publisher's shares under the co-publishing terms.
