With over 15 years of experience as a DJ and producer, DJ Trance has helped change and evolve trance music from an underground movement to the massive festival now experienced throughout the world. "DJ Trance is probably America's most unique DJ and has undoubtedly been a major force in shaping the sound of trance throughout clubs and the internet, worldwide" says Karen Fernandez of Interscope Records. From the warehouse parties of the late 80's to raves and underground parties leading up to the new mellinium, DJ Trance has helped shape trance music into a lifestyle and culture on a global level.
Now firmly entrenched in New York, DJ Trance recently produced his newest CD titled "Darkness - The Emotional Mix", and continues to produce flawless remixes from pre-recorded music to new releases.
With 28 independent albums, and 380 singles including several thousand Club Dance Remixes, DJ Trance has either remixed or produced club dance tracks for artists like Nancy Sinatra, Kate Ryan, Fragma, IIO, Milk Inc, Soda Club, Kelly Clarkston, Rank 1, Daft Punk, the Royal Giggalos, Depeche Mode, Cher, Daphne, Whitney Houston, Pink, as well as having remastered, co-produced or remixed a variation of songs with other DJs including Marco V, Andy Prinz, Paul Van Dyk, CJ Stone, DJ Sammy, Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Jason Nevins, George Acosta, Louie Devito and many, many others.
His latest remixes include songs from the movie Kill Bill, a trance remix of "Bang Bang", as well as the remastered track of "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me", originally performed by Boy George and remastered by the reggae band Blue Lagoon.
From the classic rock version of DJ Trance club productions he has worked on tracks from artists like the Eurythmics, Annie Lennox, Cindy Lauper, Blondie, and Guns and Roses and has produced remix versions of songs from the past thiry plus years as in Pink Floyd, The Eagles, Petshop Boys, Beach Boys, BBK, and ELO's original version of "Blinded by the Light" and "My Girl" from the Temptations.
As one of the first revolutionizing DJ/Artist/Producer of club dance music scene and the growing movement of electronica genre's, DJ Trance avoided the commercial life of becoming a superstar DJ and started the National Club Council in 1993. At the same time, DJ Trance launched a small underground booking agency known as DJ Trance Productions, which rapidly became one of the most successful underground promotion companies for Independent DJs primarily catering to the underground Trance and Rave scene's of Southern California and Arizona. Taking advantage of his strong standing network within the music industry, DJ Trance a.k.a. Kris Sweeton co-founded the first Trade Association exclusively representing professional club DJs, independent labels and artists, HNRG dance clubs and professionals of the club industry, better known throughout the world as the National Club Industry Association of America. Presently, DJ Trance has steped down from the corporate role as President of the NCIAA and signed with MusiK1 to continue in his music legacy.
